Meet the Team
President & CEO
Roger Ellingson began his career in the farm drainage business as a Laborer, Operator, Crew Foreman and climbed the ranks getting into surveying, engineering, sales and has served as President for the past 17 years. Roger was a catalyst in the transition from clay and concrete tile to plastic tubing in the early 70’s and has had the opportunity to deliver quality drainage solutions to more than 3,000 farmers throughout his 40 years with the company. Roger continues to work closely with several Universities and industry experts throughout the Midwest and has traveled to several European Countries that have utilized farm drainage for over 200 years.
Jeremy Ellingson is responsible for leading the strategy, management and overall key functional support for the organization. Mr. Ellingson has over 20 years in the industry and hands-on experience in every facet of the business ranging from Construction Operator, Survey Manager, Utility Operations Manager and General Manager to Chief Operating Officer of Ellingson Companies. His leadership has played a significant role in the development and growth of Ellingson Companies, Ellingson Trenchless, Llc., and Ellingson Drainage. Ellingson is an active member of Associated General Contractors, the National Utility Contractors Association, National Association of Trenchless Technology and the Midwest Energy Association.
Travis joined the Ellingson team in 1990 and started out in the business as a Laborer, Operator and Superintendent climbing the ranks and getting into equipment management. Baumgartner is responsible for all equipment assets, inventory management, and improvements. His leadership has been key to increasing efficiencies through the manufacturing and fabrication of equipment. In his current role, Mr. Baumgartner is responsible for assessing existing inventory of equipment, strategizing on improvements and the direction of manufacturing improvements to existing equipment.
Jason Gillard joined the Ellingson team in 2006 as Project Manager within the Trenchless Division. Gillard has held several responsibilities throughout the organization including oversight and management of the company’s shop and equipment operations. In his current role Jason is responsible for the supervision of all Agriculture Division operations in both the West Concord, MN and Harwood, ND locations. Prior to joining Ellingson, he worked as a Design Engineer in the manufacturing industry. Jason was raised in West Concord, MN (Ellingson corporate headquarters) and attended the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
Kari Blom was named Chief Financial Officer of Ellingson Companies in 2013. Blom joined the Ellingson team in 2006 as a cost accountant and has since held several position within the organization. In her current role Kari has overall responsibility for the cash management, finance strategy, internal audit, budgetary management, company financial controls and the overall financial health of the organization. Ms. Blom holds several academic degrees including a Master of Business Administration from the University of Saint Thomas and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
Frank Carlson joined Ellingson in 2013 as Chief Digital Officer. Carlson is responsible for the overall IT strategy and performance specifically focusing on innovative solutions, process improvements and improving productivity. Frank has always had an interest in leveraging technology to improve construction processes and has blended an eclectic education and career in construction, real estate and Information Technology to provide digital solutions to companies for over 20 years. Mr. Carlson holds several academic degrees including a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s of Business Administration from Bethel University.
Derrik joined Ellingson Companies in 2000. Ellingson grew up spending countless hours hanging out with his grandfather and father learning the family business. Derrik quickly developed a passion for farming and farm drainage. Mr. Ellingson started out as a Laborer, working his way up through the business and eventually taking part on the first directional drilling project for Ellingson Companies. In 2010 Derrik stepped in to a Production Manager role and relocated to the Fargo area. Today, Derrik oversees the daily operations of the Red River Valley office and is responsible for leading the Agricultural Drainage business development team.
Vicki McKay is responsible for leading the Company’s efforts related to safety, leadership development, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, staff development and employee relations. Ms. McKay has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources leadership roles. Previously, she served as V.P.-Human Resources for a 1,000 employee fiberglass motor yacht manufacturing company where she led the Human Resources effort for 15 years and also played a key role in the continuous improvement of the safety program by collaborating closely with the Environmental/Safety Manager. Vicki was raised on a grain farm in southwest Minnesota, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in business administration from Minnesota State University-Moorhead.
